Very First Album

Post by swingdoc » Fri Sep 26, 2003 9:01 pm

Im not a big fan of fluffy topics like these, but thought it'd be kinda funny.

What was the very first album you bought with your own money?

A: Van Halen II

The very first single I bought was Big Time by Peter Gabriel, at a Strawberries Records & Tapes in Shrewsbury, MA. First full-length was Cloud Nine by George Harrison.

I would have to guess a Weird Al tape. I'm pretty sure. I haven't touched my Weird Al tapes for at least 10 years, thank god.

I usually bummed my records off my older brother, but I think it was Eric Johnson's Ah Via Musicom. That's when I first started playing the geetar. Little did I know I would be looked down upon for the rest of my high school years.

First single was Christopher Cross' "Ride like the wind".

First album was Princes' "Dirty Mind".

Then it was Minor Threat.

The first record I bought with my own money was Van Halen's Fair Warning. The opening riff to Mean Streets totally rocks my world to this day...

... followed by The Stray Cats "Built for Speed" and The Cars "Shake It Up".

Heh.
*tap tap*

is this thing on?
