I bought a bunch of outboard gear from him several years ago. I've sold all of it except a 3630, I think.

The first album I bought with my own money was The Police's "Synchronicity."

With my own money would be The Cars - The Cars.

When I was maybe 3 my parents bought me the "123-ABC" by the Jackson Five. I was a huge fan of the animated TV show...

The first 45 I ever got was Afternoon Delight by the Starland Vocal Band. I was 6.

It wasn't until I got older that I realized what that song was really about.

:D

Okay! Okay! The first album I bought was INXS 'Kick'.

I hope you're happy putting me through that.

Let me just clarify here that I'm speaking about paying with my own money. I had a great Spiderman gatefold LP/Comic/follow-along as well as the OG Star Wars gatefold LP/follow-along stuff that my parents purchased for me.

Oooh Oooh and "Disney's 'The Black Hole'" follow-along LP too.

Christopher Cross was just the first 45 that I recall purchasing with my own cash money.

Not that I'm ashamed, he's great. It's was just the advent of Music TeleVision that killed his performance career.

At least that's how I remember it.

I happen to think the 3630 is a pretty cool piece of gear, but I know I'm in the minority. (I didn't really like the Aphex 105s and I sold the Drawmer to get some Aphex 612s.) It hasn't replaced my Distressors, Neves, Ureis, Altecs, or DBXs, but I've still managed to find uses for it, even with those other pieces (and whatever the studio has) around.

Weezer - Blue album.

Since I'm twenty now, that puts me I think in the fifth grade when it was released. Saved up allowance money, too.

I bought a dickies 45 (one of the swirly vinyl ones)
and something else.
I still have my sweet men without hats 45 (safety dance/living in china).

The vapors "turning japanese", and um idunno.

The decline of west coast civilization...

I lived on that record for a while.

That was later though. Shit I dont remember the very first one. My dad had a bad ass collection, so I just listened to his meters records a lot, and some beatles.
and rufus thomas.

then I got all punked out in like 84 I guess it was...

Loverboy - Get Lucky
Supertramp - Breakfast in America

I think it was Black and White by The Stranglers, 1978.
