I agree with Axial and put my money on "Fool In The Rain". It speeds up and gets all latin-like in the end. And, it has these lyrics which could remind someone of stoplights... maybe.

"there?s a light in your eye that keeps shining"

"I will stand in the rain on the corner"

"Light of the love that I found..."

i already said it wasn't trampled under foot, guys!

also it's not fool in the rain. it's none of the songs you've mentioned.

it may not be zeppelin though... but it sounded a heck of a lot like them... especially the singer. i coulda sworn it was robert plant.

red lights, green lights, strawberry (?) something... ??

Is it The Cars? Maybe you're confused, and it's a song by the Cars, instead of about a car. Have you heard of them? They're good.

Wait! Cars? Maybe it's "Cars" by Gary Numan! That could easily be confused for a Zep song, right?

Ah... it's Lonely is the Night by Billy Squier. The first time I heard it, I also thought it was a Zeppelin track. They got the sound so right - a Plant-like wail, Bonham-style accents, and a nice Jimmy Page crunch.

Lonely is the night when you find yourself alone
Your demons come to light and your mind is not your own
Lonely is the night when there's no one left to call
You feel the time is right -- (say) the writting's on the wall

It's a high time to fight when the walls are closing in
Call it what you like -- it's time you got to win
Lonely, lonely, lonely -- your spirit's sinking down
You find you're not the only stanger in this town

Red lights, green lights, stop'n go jive
Headlines, deadlines, jammin' your mind
You been stealin' shots from the side
Let your feelings go for a ride

There's danger out tonight -- the man is on the prowl
Get the dynamite -- the boys are set to prowl
Lonely is the night when you hear the voices call
Are you ready for a fight -- do you wanna take it all

Slowdown, showdown, waitin' on line
Showtime -- no time for changing your mind
Streets are ringing -- march to the sound
Let your secrets follow you down

Sonebody's watchin' you baby -- so much you can do
Nobody's stoppin' you baby from makin' it, too
One glimpse I'll show you now baby, what the music can do
One kiss I'll show you now baby -- it can happen to you

No more sleeping, wasting our time
Midnight creeping first on our minds
No more lazin' round the t.v.
You'll go crazy -- come out with me

THIS IS IT!!! thank you very much stevemoss! that's insane how much it sounds like robert plant with that jimmy page crunch and john bonham drumming (especially that fill after the first first chorus!). even john paul jones style bass line!

i hope he wasn't doing that on purpose...

what a good song. i love the way the drums come in. :D

Awesome. That's been bugging me as well.

Speaking of which, my single greatest memory of all time; I saw Mr Bungle and they opened with 'Stroke It'.

That's "Stroke ME," not "Stroke IT!"

And yeah, Billy Squier rules. Love the video (I believbe it's for "Lonely is the Night") where he's prancing around in the ripped t-shirt and pink cargo pants, doing the "look, I'm holding a microphone" mime! Video killed the radio star, indeed.

I saw a band close their show with "Everybody Wants You" a few weeks ago and man was it ever cool.

Billy Squire gave a free concert at University of Miami my first week there (1991) and I went out of sheer curiousity. Man, did he rock! Still had it. Still nailed all those fucking pitches. And the drummer--WOW. I got the impression that this was like, THE DUDE, who'd been with him for years. What a badass. Great show, and I'm not really a fan or anything.
