Portland
I've been on my first visit to Portland for 48 hours now, I've worked about 40 of those hours. I want to go visit Larry but Jackpot! isn't in the phone book and I won't get the time anyway. My job sucks.

I really dig Portland, it's a cool cool place.
The record stores are rad, the bars are rad, that giant book store is rad, the bridges are rad.
the people are rad too!

Re: Portland
is this going to turn into that portland thread again?
i think we should design a FAQs that has absolutely no recording advice whatsoever. just portland advice and restaurant recomendations.

Re: Portland
I saw something on the travel channel about the tunnels underneath the city. They were used to transport kidnapped (shanghai'd) sailors. Appearantly they give tours, I wanna go back to portland and check that out!
People I knew there rent whole houses for the amount of money I spend on a studio apartment (in SF), and they had an entire basement to play/record in!
(not fair)

people often ask why i live in shitty tacoma but am always in seattle. my reason is a large one bedroom apartment (gas, water, sewer, garbage paid) with my own private detached garage (450 sq. ft.!!) for $525/month. for both. there is a bar, 2 record stores, open air market, breakfast joint, a porno store, chinese restaurant, and the best deli in town all within one block. music store, more bars within 2 blocks. the "scene" (or lack thereof) sucks total ass, but the wallet thanks me.
