TAPE OP HOLIDAY CHARITY

Post by Electricide » Thu Dec 11, 2003 7:18 am

Ok, here it is. It's way too hard to communicate with 100 people via PM. Secret's out.

I agree with sentiments that we should get a pool of $$ together for a charity donation, in the name of TapeOp. David from MORE, the M Audio program, has yet to get back to me.

Guitar Whore Harley suggested just sending a wire of dough to Larry, and have him donate it. We're a national group, so diverse and, well, national charities would represent us best.

Let's hear it people. I'm in for $20. $5 or so would be great!

If you wanna send me the $$ I'll pool it and send it off. I'm legit, I swear!

As much as we all believe truly that you are legit and honest

I still think It's a better idea to send it to tape op.. Why would you want that kind of responsibility?

This way it's a known entity [no offense intended].....

thanks

I meant I'll get the $$$ together and send it to Larry. He probably doesn't have time to cash a handful of personal checks or open a bunch of envelopes with 5 dollar bills. I'm hoping he doesn't have time to read this thread :o

However, I haven't done any quality research on possible charities, and I don't want your money being wasted. Plus, this being the board's first time out, I'm skeptical about getting enough $$$ to make any sort of impression on a charity. I think if we go that route, it should be the TapeOp Pledge drive for XYZ Charity, who we've contacted and researched and is diverse and national and represents us. Then we could spend time getting together like $1000, not a measly $100.

The engraving idea is something I know I can get done this weekend, and have out by Monday, for minimal cost. I have the 57 already, and Fletcher was kind enough to donate his FedEx account for shipping, which is # hahahaha.

If we all think charity is a good idea, which I'm elated to see we do, let's spend time next year making it worth it.

the new one is a section of the gatefold for a bjork single, all is full of love.

the old one is a section of a David Horesy comic. His stuff is brilliant.
