Well, you've probably most definitely heard of my favorite 60's band, The Mamas and The Papas.

There's this one band called the Beatles. They were pretty good.

I think so ... hence the unconventional spelling of the word "beetle."deharmonic wrote:never heard of them. are they scandinavian?bedbug wrote:There's this one band called the Beatles. They were pretty good.

It's a toss up. After The Beatles, its a tie:
1) CCR (John Fogerty rocks!)
2) Brian Wilson (and the Beach Boys)
Great stuff! Damn!

Don't forget the Sonics!
They are in the top five, after the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Velvet Underground and the Beach Boys....I think...

Billy Nicholls and Sagittarius are both pretty overlooked. Otherwise I like the usual: Beatles, Beach Boys, Kinks, Zombies, the Band, CCR, Small Faces, etc.
Re: your favorite 60's bands...
find the "Cruisin' With Reubin and the Jets" record by the original Mothers, or "Freak Out" or "Absolutely Free" if ya haven't heard those. "Cruisin'" is fabulous! and all 3 are so very 60's-flower power sounding in Mr. Zappa's own warped way. The vinyl used to be impossible to find, but I think they're all out on CD now. And is anyone else disappointed about how bad "White Light, White Heat" sounds on CD? I love that record too, especially "the Gift" but the vinyl version sounds soooo much better....
I thought this club was for musicians. Who let the drummer in here??
