SM/Jicks - Milwaukee : did it happen?

I've been finding conflicting information about this on the web, but there's a rumor floating around that in Milwaukee on 5/25, Steven Malkmus and the Jicks played this set:

Was anyone there? Could this be true. If so, what does this mean?

I'm not trying to spread misinformation or anything, but a lot of you have probably already heard the rumor. There's apparently a recording of it here
