Look at my drawrings!

Post by Bear » Tue Jan 13, 2004 11:21 am

I've been painting again lately, and I have some new stuff to share with the world. I'd like some opinions. Positive or negative, I don't care. I've got thick skin. Lay it on me.

P.S.--there's a couple on the second page, too.

Surely you mean fur??

I like portrait one and ego best. But all of 'em are very good.

Wow, I'm really impressed. The elephant is beautiful. So are you selling any of these of just using them for your portfolio?

You don't need thick skin, cuz you've got talent...

Y'know, 9 times out of ten when someone is like "hey, look at my art!" online it just blows. But your stuff is really good. Great use of greyscale and color. Way to go!

Man, did I post on the right board.

Thanks for all the comments, folks. I usually don't get this many thumbs up. I run into a lot of "why don't you paint prettier things?" kind of comments, which is just a nice way of saying you blow. But this is inflating the old ego. Awesome.

As for agents ... well, no. I've never really thought about things from that end.

As for custom art -- yes. I've done a few book and CD covers over the years, along with the occasional flyer (did one just this month, actually). I currently have four paintings in a local gallery, which I'm going to photograph this week, if I can. I'll post a link if I get them up.

And I do sell stuff, but that's pretty new. I've always just given things away until about two years ago, when I was advised to quit doing that. But I rarely paint with nice materials--most of these are done in 11 X 14 sketch pads--which makes them tough to sell.

But thanks for the boost, folks. I'm gonna go gloat now.

You have some serious artistic talent Bear. Have you looked into putting some of those designs on T's or hoodies?

Or it's just a dumb way of saying they are aesthetically retarded

Bear.....sheeet....awesome!
Engaging stuff..

My first instinct was, man, how can I get some of this work?
Not only talented, but I think very marketable.
Would you do album/ CD cover work? Maybe I could refer people to you, or get one for our next CD???
best of luck..
Mark
