One that's been evading my clutches for a while now is Low's The Curtain hits the Cast.' Bloody bugger - that thing's a right elusive twunt. I should probably not mention at this point that Pete paid ninety quid for his second hand copy. fucking OUCH!!

I waited from like 1983 until just this past fall (20 years) to find a copy of Nick Nicely's "Hilly Fields" 7" on EMI. Finally found it and I kept thinking I was dreaming, it sounded just as good as I thought it was when I first heard it from a friend. Still looking for the New Classic Singers LPs on Capitol, been looking since the early '90s, seen 'em go a couple of times and been too late.

What a great chance to show off.

They Might Be Giants. Apollo 18. 10 years. More for sentimental reasons than anything, found it on eBay, had to send cash to Germany. They guy who lost the auction to me sent me an email saying I had ruined his life and he was now going to jump off a bridge.

Recently I finely got the Jerkly Boys first album. Though I wasn't searching too hard for it.

God bless ebay. God damn ebay too.

I know it. It's a great record though - I mean, it's their best, right? OVer the Ocean is amazing. Know what though? But Pete's copy isn't in that great a nick either - it's 'excellent' but some might grade it 'very good +++' (I'm referring to the UK Record Collector grading system here, which I think borrows from the book collecting world a little bit). For me it would have to be MINT +++ for that dough. Well, obviously, I wouldn't buy it for that money - or any other record for that matter. But whatever. Pete's kind of really into Low. As he'd have to be for that wad.

How much is TOO much to you guys when it comes to buying vinyl??, i would have parted with a 100 quid for these Snakefinger albums, except i got lucky and got them for 15 quid each, one still new in it's wrapper, if i had seen these at a record fare, you can bet that they'd be at least 40-50 quid a shot!.

So, how much is too much if it's an album you lust after guys...i'm a mad bastard...sometimes i find it hard to silence the devil within just say no! I can give up anytime i want you know!

Fuck - I dunno. 50 squid? Probably wouldn't go much higher than that. 'Pends what it was and how long I'd been after it.

That's about my limit too, the Last one was a Kraftwerk album, it was 60 quid, when it was still only Hutter and Shneider, very rare!....i managed to drag myself away before i spent the rent.. :D

I think their very first release was on Philips Rob, the album i saw was Ralf & Florian on the Vertigo label from 1973...I have Radio-Activity on vinyl.

If your a fan i would recommend Wolfgang Flur's book 'I Was A Robot'...
