Heaven - a song composed entirely of samples of Albertsons.

I made recordings in Albertsons (grocery store) with a crappy tape recorder and mic. I then sampled them and used a MOD tracker to write this song. I did this like, over 10 years ago.
All the samples are from albertsons, even the choir. they had a machine where you sould make your own greeting card that makes noise/music when you opened it. I sampled the previews.

I was expecting it to sound more like a supermarket with registers chinging and people shopping and less like a metal bolt factory and funeral home..but it was sweet none the less..I like how noisey it is..and creepy..real cool shit..I remember MOD trakkers, never used it but i had a friend who did some cool stuff with them..thanks so much for posting that..its going in the folder of cool weirdo stuff..

Oh man, that's awesome. Your interpretation of the shopping experience is dark. FiiiiIIgaaaAArooOOOooo ties it all together. Did you get much in the produce section?
If this is 10 years old, what does your recent stuff sound like?

I don 't think I got much in the produce section. Mainly the card machine and kicking shopping carts into walls I think. Damn, I wish I cold find that tape. Of course it's unlabled as the rest of them, I'm sure. Or I taped over Brian Eno or somethhing I'm kicking myself for now.
Newer stuff. Hmm. After this period I did a more metal/industrial thing, then more noise/less rythm stuff. Then acoustic folk rock and now synth pop. Ahh. times they are a changin. I should post more of this old stuff.

I really really like that. What is a mod tracker? I'm planning on using some sounds of the shop iwork in for rhythms.

i downloaded this a month or two ago but just wanted to say it's badass. i worked at albertsons in my teen years and this song really fits my memories of that souless job..
Re: Heaven - a song composed entirely of samples of Albertso
i used to work at Kroger's, i know how soulless it gets...it's like working a slave ship, except there's no oars...

Yes. The beat that starts around :40 and then on is shopping carts being smashed into walls, etc.gandhabba wrote:I think this is F#!%ing brilliant !
