Wow - those studio pictures definitely show off a place with a definite anti-vibe - makes me think of recording at a corporate office.
At least Walter has some serious cool pieces before he gives an attitude - these guys have a Digi 001.
But if it works for them and their clients - more power to 'em.
Best regards,
Steve Berson

I thought you guys would get a kick out of that
my cat took a shit on the bathroom floor earlier so now i can't have any one sing in there!! damn
I love the quote about buying equipment doesn't make you a producer..
but it sure as shit would make for better recordings....

Funny, no audio samples that I could find on the site. After a bold faced (literally I'm talking about the font) 10-pointer like that they should back it up with some audio proof in the pudding.
Just my 'shave-and-a-hiarcut'.

Re: And you thought Walter Sear made you cry..
i think it's so crazy how he talks about all "pro this" and "a REAL studio" that... and then he's using a lot of home recorder gear - 001, ADATs, etc. anybody else notice that?

...and what the crap? that's from the guy who writes "tales from the trenches" in home recording magazine?
seriously. what happened?

It is interesting that rule six states that charging by the hour is a sign of an amatuer. Yet, every package listed posts a time limit in the total price, which to me is the same as an hourly rate. I did like the photo of dude with backsyncdegrees. That screams creative haven.

I assume his "style" also happens to be the same as Arty's style?"Arty was very helpful from beginning to end. He created two fantastic pop songs, tailored to my style and voice range, leaving me with a great demo to send to managers and labels. Thanks Arty!"
-Sean Murray
Q: I don?t write music. Can you guys write a song with my vocal style in mind?
A: Yes, and we do it often. Many artists like us to come up with a music track, and then they write their own lyrics to match. Sometimes artists come with just lyrics or just melodies, or any combination. We work with it all. That?s what songwriting is all about.

Re: And you thought Walter Sear made you cry..
does he only do r and b stuff, and by that i mean vocals and then a beat comprised of samples. cuz i noticed that in his platinum recording package you get 3 hours of vocal time but no mention of anything else. Also with all that shit talkin about home studios cuttin corners and not delivering the goods youd expect the guy to have at least a descent mic collection, and while hes got a u87 in there he only has 4 mics total! Now lord knows im the epitomy of an amateur home recordist but in my opinion ive got a way better collection than him. One last thing hes clearly got a 2 inch reel to reel in the studio photos but theres no mention of it in his gear list, it seems to me that its be hard to overlook the heart of your studio. In conclusion im assuming that 10 pitfalls intro page was meant as a warning to never use that studio

Ever notice how part of the typical song-shark pitch is to warn you about song-sharks?
