Yeah, funny, sometimes they would take all this time preparing, not playing a note, and then launch into the most out of tune, unrehearsed-sounding thing ever.

But I love stuff that sounds like a train wreck so I didn't mind.

They definitely tightened up near the end...when they got 2 drummers and that Dan Brown guy on bass.

Ah, good times.

In the backpack today:
1. Boredoms - Chocolate Synthesizer
2. Neil Michael Hagerty and the Howling Hex
3. Can - Tago Mago
4. MX-80 Out of the Tunnel/Crowd Control

no #5 right now

Cats... is like, lacking in the bass, y'know?

OK, I confess, Velvet Revolver and Iggy's Skull Ring and QUOTSA's new EP, Sparklehorse's It's a Wonderful Life and Verbena's La Musica Negra have all been heard by me in the last 20 hours.

I don't have a 5-disc changer, but here's the last five I've been listening to.

Error - s/t EP - "hard-electro-punk" 'supergroup'
Skinny Puppy - The Greater Wrong of the Right
Skinny Puppy - Bites
Skinny Puppy - The Process
Skinny Puppy - Last Rights

Getting revved up for the Skinny Puppy show next Wed. who I never thought I'd get to see live.

I wish it was a train wreck. Instead, it was a bad allman bros. show, with no hope of ever ending..

So we are starting this again, eh?

OK, I'll play:

1. Living Color's Colliedoscope (sp.?):; I tell you, they have changed so, and yet remained the same, and the production, especially on track 3, is very, eh, interesting, and as for the AC/DC cover...

2. Velvet Revolver's Contraband: so I'm a sucker for Slash and the gang, and as allmusic.com said, it even made me like Weiland;

3. Joe Ely's Streets of Sin: this isn't a Tchad Blake or Lanois production, but it could be, and it's beautiful;

4. Bowie's Reality: This has been out a while now, and revisiting it, I still like it, but don't love it;

5. Bottle Rockets' Blue Sky; is there a more underated "alt-country" band out there? Probaby a lot of them, but these guys write great songs that they perform great, and even if Eric Ambel didn't produce this one (and he's one of my favorites), Michael Barbiero and the band made it sound sweetly commercial.
