stereo question about rnc
stereo question about rnc
I know this may seem inordinately naive, and realize I could answer this by doing a simple experiment, but:
Is gain reduction in my rnc applied to both channels simultaneously when a single channel's signal crosses the trigger threshold, or is it only applied to that channel. Thus far I have not used it in a situation that would make this empirically clear, but had contemplated using just after a pair of di's for two guitars. Is that an option or is it functionally undoable.

it can be annoying at times, too

Re: stereo question about rnc

These are the shortest answers I've read to a forum question yet. But yes both channels evenly.

There's no way to unlink the channels either. Having a choice to link/unlink would be very useful, but I wonder if it would drive the price up and knock the RNC out of the "under $200" market.
Re: stereo question about rnc
sure thing. they only need one detector and gain reduction circuit this way, they just apply it to both channels of audio. think of it as a single channel device that they made even more valuable by allowing it to work on two related audio channels at once.awolski wrote:There's no way to unlink the channels either. Re: stereo question about rnc
You could always buy a second one.
Re: stereo question about rnc
I bought it used so I never got the manual. I may very well buy another at some point as it is a good value even as a single channel. Thank you all for your brevity. -Lance-
