It's the oldest trick in the book, but sometimes if you tell them to just "run through it one time" before you record, then hit the record button, you'll capture magic.

Call me old fashioned, but in my studio we yell at each other. It's okay though, because we're all friends and friends should be able to yell at each other.
If I ever have a stranger in my studio though, I usually can tell if we're going to get along by their reaction to my cat being in the studio.
