heres a situation i could use some help with...

Post by Steve » Thu Aug 14, 2003 9:34 am

this post was actually part of the matched pair post from a few days ago but i wanted to get some more opinions....
the post is regarding matched pairs for overheads......

i have a problem that i think a few people here will understand...
i decided to go to sam ash (big mistake) and do the buy now pay in a few months deal, well they only had 1 km184 so i had to buy a pair of shure 81's since i was in a hurry for a session and i knew i could exchange them, so basicly im screwed, its the km184's or some other piece of dog shit sam ash carries (yes i learned my lesson) any suggestions? does anyone know where i can try out the joesphen c42s in the nyc /brooklyn area?
thanks guys

with what? call josephson on the mics...they are on the web and will probably help you out or find someone who has a pair so you can check em out in their studio...

mic-wise there's a ton of different ones that sound good. if you don't have a set of mics to compare against...get a reference. when you get a pair - whatever they are, you'll figure out situations where they won't work and will need another pair... so just start somewhere.
