Presonus Firepod - is it hot?

Post by np » Tue Dec 21, 2004 7:21 am

Has anyone tried the new Firepod? I'm ready to step up to 8 inputs through Firewire and was hoping for some feedback on this product.

I dunno about this particular PreSonus product, but personally I will never buy another PreSonus anything. the price is right but you get what you pay for. I had a preamp and a compressor from these birds and both of them within a year of purchase caught fire internally and had to be trashed. plus the preamp made a sheer ton of noise. cheap stuff all right

I have one, it's fantastic. No problems, super low latency. There's also the firebox, a firepod little brother.

Hey all..just found this site. I have two firepods....16 analog ins to my laptop....rocks! (you have to request the driver for it from them) The pres are pretty good...but if you are doing live recording at a venue with a good board that has good pres that's even better.... I had some issues with conflicts with them and the wireless card I have but Presonus was great on helping me work it out....

I actually love the pres on the firepod, better than most live boards I come across...

I would first check out the Edirol UA-1000

Its built alot stronger, the preams sound cleaner (to me at least), and its got alot more functions and hookup gizmos...

What are you basing this on? Made-up bs? Gimme a break dude and check out a real unit.

Sorry for the flame, just obvious poppycock.

Apologies for the above. Had some leftover venom from a coworker. Please disregard.
