does anyone else dream of being interviewed for tapeop
Re: does anyone else dream of being interviewed for tapeop
I'd be afraid if they did.
I don't believe I've done anything noteworthy enough to warrant it.
For me it's about personal expression and a labor of love.

A) I second the idea of a section in each issue devoted to a home recordist, I'd really find that interesting
B) I've seen the Sound on Sound thing, Studio SOS or somesuch. It's pretty good, but holy cow that magazine's expensive in the US
C) If they interviewed me, you'all would hate me (old fart with high paying job buys fairly nice stuff he doesn't understand)

Just focus on your craft and good things will come.

I'm in the have-been-interviewed-by-Tape-Op club. [ Nov/Dec 04 Issue #44 ] Man, it's great in here. Free all-you-can-eat ice cream, too!

Hey, I've been interviewed by TapeOp. How high can their standards be?

I'd like to read more interviews with nobody's like myself -- it's kind of inspiring. One of the reasons I don't read Mix magazine is they absolutely never have articles on people with small home studios. I don't even read the tapeop articles on medium/large commercial studios -- they just don't really interest me.

Go Nobodys!
I think it'd be interesting, you could probably learn a lot of interesting techniques from people who have a similar level of gear.

Or TO could setup at least a section at their site for online-only interviews with readers and/or forum members?

Re: does anyone else dream of being interviewed for tapeop
Hi all. FWIW, I think that the Sound On Sound Studio SOS is pretty lame, they basically do almost the same thing every time - maybe it's not their fault, but they always make the people get some different but still relatively cheap monitors, put them on stands, and talk about some fairly meaningless plugin settings.BORING.
This board is far more useful to me than SOS.
I'd love to be interviewed, for tapeop. i'd be ranting on for days, it'd be terrible ;-p
Take it easy all,

P.S. note to self, don't fall over the kerb outside your house and break your ankle, it hurts a lot ;-( especially if you weren't even drunk ;-p
