For this song I came up with about 10 separate scales/melodic runs off the top of my head, then strung them together and did some minor editing. It sounded a little disconnected till I tried to make sense of it with the bass.
Here's another one I wrote that mixes jazz and classical. Check out the phat drop beat at the end:

The second one i think has potential, just needs some development IMO.
