Apple Pages
Re: Apple Pages
Are we talking the .mac? I got it just to exchange files and have a little site. I haven't done much with it yet. A good friend of mine uses it extensively on the road to keep all his contacts up to date.

Re: Apple Pages
no, pages is Apple's new answer to MS Word. It's available in iWork with Keynote.
I'm passing on it for now, as I don't need Keynote and already have MS Word. But I don't really know if it's worth it or not for someone who really needs a great word processing app.

Whatever you can do to get Microsoft off you computer, the better.
looks a lot more simple/user-friendly too, which I like:

I cannot explain how much I hate Microsoft word. Why Adobe doesn't release a stellar word processing application that interfaces seamlessly with the whole CS line, I don't know...

Re: Apple Pages
I've always been using claris/appleworks, haven't used word since 96.
I'm wondering if its really worth the upgrade from AppleWorks, I mean, I only process words ocasionaly. Though I usually like stuff that hasn't been processed, I like pure, raw words. And I like them in Ariel, not Helvitica.
If I went out and bought page, would I be real pissed of and feel stupid, or is the x-citement about buying new software just for the fun of it a feeeling I should listen to, because this time its on to something?

Re: Apple Pages
well, if they're going to go that far, might as well use a page layout program: InDesign. No professionals using CS and high-end apps usually need a word-processor that does powerful things, they have InDesign/Quark for that.andrew embassy wrote:I cannot explain how much I hate Microsoft word. I concur though. MS Word is the devil in many ways.
