Tape Op trashed on Motu Mac listserv

Post by standup » Sat Jan 29, 2005 5:37 am

I've been reading some nasty little remarks about Tape Op over on Motu/Mac. Most of it obviously from people who have never seen the mag.

In the same spirit, I thought I'd trash them here.

I've decided the guys complaining are middle-age Steely Dan fans with ponytails who think they're guitar gods because they were able to learn "Eruption" and Robert Johnson can't. The kind of guy who simply can't check an audio system of any kind without a copy of "The Nightfly" in the CD player...

So there.

I feel much better.

The guys Guitar center, "recording" magazine, and "EQ" magazine were made for.

ive been on motu-mac since 1998. i unsubscribed yesterday after reading 3 days of bullshit.

you are 100% right, the people on there, on the whole, are 45 and older, total geeks, ponytailed child molesters, fuckin tight black jeans and a sportcoat kind of jerks. and not nearly as smart as they think they are. and most importantly, have absolutely ZERO FUCKING MUSICAL TASTE, even collectively on the whole goddamn list.

i couldnt take it anymore. the tapeop bashing was the last straw. fuck em.

i bash tapeop too, but it's different!!

I am a member of MOTU-Mac and am totally lost as to why you think TapeOp was trashed there. I actually found out about this group from MOTU-Mac and was intrigued about TapeOp from all the positive feed back.
But then maybe you saw something differently ?

If that's all true then screw 'em. That kind of narrow-minded bullshit is infantile.
Very, very few people would say derogatory things like what you all are describing to another person's face, but cowards can hide behind the anonyminty of the 'net to say things they would never dare otherwise. All tough-like. Boo.
I'm NOT gonna sign up for a Yahoo group just to satisfy my curiosity about this matter, so I'll have to take y'all's word about it. Besides, I don't have the time to get all Hatfield vs. McCoy...

Besides, we can record circles around 'em

This smells like a ploy to get people to login to Motu-Mac and "up" their hits.

Sorry...I...just had to say that.
