Has anyone heard or used one of these desks? apparently they were used by the bbc, and had something to do with audix. worth buying?

Hmmm...

The only Chilton I know makes manuals for automobiles.

In case you thought "Chilton" sounded familiar...

As in "Alex Chilton". I was at the last gig in CHI, where they left the stage one by one.

There we go!!

By the way I've never heard of a Chilton console.
That Console website would probably have info on it.

I'd try the good ol' Google search.

yep- heard of 'em. a friend of mine has a couple( one main and one used as a side-car) and i've had the pleasure of tracking/mixing on it several times. gotta be careful, like any vintage console- check pots/switches, etc, etc. he's done a lot of work getting his stable and reliable. but it's worth it- to have a console that actually has a sound.

the onboard compressors sound awesome and the eq's are cool too.

This is a WAY Cool Sight. They have some pix of the Chilton. I think they may have had a thread. You can try the search function - It's not very good. The moderators have been active a long time, so I think they would be a resource- Just post. The pase of dicussion is slower than here and they all seem to know each other. Many europeans, as well. they have a diferent tilt on the whole thing.

I can top you! I can top you!

I was there, too, got arrested for d&d, and turned 31 in jail. (Are we really that old?)

I only heard them as I was cuffed up near and then in a rolligon and so didn't see them at the Taste, but I had previously met Westerberg and Bob S. in Rockford, and subsequently met Bob S. at Clem'z place on Division a couple of times... I think his band was called "Dog 999."

OK, I'm done topping you.
