That's too bad. UK shipping would be painful. I could always ship it in parts - I have a bunch of PG Tips boxes.



For those of you who are thinking about the m50:
I put up a pic of the BB in-circuit (mic-amp). I will also throw in some additional BB opamps and I will re-cap the power supply before shipping.

Regarding the Tascam mixer, which looks really cool, btw, nice job on the BB mods, how is the M50 different than the M512? When looking at your pics next to that of a 512, all looks pretty much the same, though the 512 seems to have longer faders? Mods aside, are the pres, eq's and routing similar? I checked out Tascam's site but can only find that the M50 came out in '83 and the M512 in '84.

I'm posting this here instead of a PM to you, should someone other than yourslef be able to shed some light on the matter. BTW, is the board still available? Thanks!

I could be wrong but, what I remember is: The 512 has 100mm faders, 2 more aux sends (4 total) and both have an external power supply to make room for the added aux amps and faders. The bussing and I/O remained the same through the M-5xx's history.

I've never taken apart a 512 or 520 so I don't know the details beyond that. I would seriously doubt that there were any significant design changes since the m50.

Sorry to sound so bland, but, I assume fader length has no impact on the quality of the mixer, correct? I'm pondering your M50, it's between yours and an M512 (no Burr Browns, however, quite cheaper but not as clean as yours).
