Got the part for a Moog Source I was working on - and just returned it to a very very happy owner. Repairing synthesizers brings joy to peoples faces! Especially mine, since I spent the whole day playing with it before I had to say goodbye.

Now its into the shower before work mixing 2 bands at the club.

I was editing and mastering a 2 cd spoken word album for YouthSpeaks, but my fucking motherboard just died completly. Fortunately, the deadline is a way off.

And I'm getting ready for the tapeop etc, party tonight.

I just recorded some drum tracks for this hardcore/metalcore band called Hold Your Ground.

About an hour the Oktava MC012 came in some I got to use it on the session. Perfect timing.

Recorded my first concert last night, and I think it turned out well....

I'll post a separate thread a la "Anatomy of a Recording Session".

PS NT5s don't suck if you have a decent chain. More later.

Edit: here's the thread: http://messageboard.tapeop.com/viewtopic.php?t=27318

NT5's are incredible room mics. I was blown away by my pair. Don't take any shit - those are killer mics!

In the middle of mixing the new Stone Coyotes record. Yeah!
he took a duck in the face at two and hundred fifty knots.

http://www.radio-valkyrie.com/ao/aoindex.htm - download the new record (free is an option!) or get it on CD.

Working on mixing a country version of the 80s song I Melt With You by The Lonesome Halos.

NT5s are decent mics. I like my pair. Was someone slagging them?
pffft...the internet. Is that thing still around?

I hung a suspended ceiling in my laundry room :-)

Last night though I nailed a mix... because I'm at home, and it is my project I find I can tweak and tweak...

Earlier this week I was asking the board about the sound in the Nazz's "Open My Eyes" and got a decent substitute from the Bitrman's Phlanger. I love the Bitrman.

My song is called "Close My Eyes" so I thought that really worked on a metalevel, but I'm fruity that way.

Woke up at 6AM, drank two beers and did the final mix & master on what will probably be my band's next 7-inch on my new dual G-4 set-up. Went to the mailbox a few hours later, got the check for the final 50 copies we sold of our last one. As the Kinks might say, Low Budget.

Ain't life grand.

Woke up, went to the eye doctor, my vision got a little worse, she put some drops in my eye that were yellow, which i think numbs the eye, she checked for glacouma, no glacouma. Then she put in some stuff that made my pupils dialate. I hate that shit. I couldnt read in the waiting room so it was hella boring. and afterwards i got some of those sunglass type things that wrap around onto your temple. So i had to sport those when i walked back to the car and drove home. I then went onto tape op and couldnt read anything on the compy fer a while cause my pupils were dialated... It was cool though, when i blew my nose after a couple hours, this yellow stuff that she put in my eye was all in my snot it was kinda wierd but also kinda cool. I dont know why i wrote all that. Probably didnt wanna hear about me blowing my nose

But i helped paint my brother in laws condo and practiced some guitar at home and now am going to go eat and rent a movie and relax.
