Oktava ribbon = mean looking flyers
Went through a bit of a flyer dry spell recently, and for the life of me couldn't come up with a solid idea. The equivalent of writers block for flyer designers I guess. At any rate, all the talk about the cheap ass ribbons on the board made me steal an image of an Oktava and use it for a flyer. Please don't alert the authorities, I'd appreciate it.

Blue highway?
No, don't know that foundry I'm afraid. I think all I've used in this flyer is available from Adobe -- Avenir (95 -- Black) and I think DIN Shriften for the rest.

There was a type foundry called Larabie Fonts back in the early 2000's and they put out a typeface that looked a lot like that called Blue Highway. I used it all the time and my stuff looked a lot like some of these flyers.DryCounty wrote:Blue highway?

True...but another one was from a show at Alley Katz, and that's where the band's from. Charlottesville's a great town, too. Beats the hell out of central Illinois.craigloom wrote:But it's in Charlottesville.

I've been good, thanks, Erik. Yeah, I should be there. Excellent flyer as well.DryCounty wrote:Yes, we are from Richmond. When did you live here....?craigloom wrote:But it's in Charlottesville.

I lived in Va Beach, then Williamsburg, and my wife went to high school in Midlothian, so Richmond was always around for me.DryCounty wrote:Yes, we are from Richmond. Mjau, when did you live here....?craigloom wrote:But it's in Charlottesville.
And I totally took it for granted. I guess I figured that every town had a Plan 9.
