I worked on some really fun things this last year.
What made it fun is it happened to be repeat clients... but also new clients that came in for a "demo" then to come back in a few months later to do a full-length and/or EP. It's the thing where we go with something of a great demo (I don't take any session lightly-- demo or not). 2005 has been good where I mostly worked within progression of communication, understanding, tracking, and mixing.
I've had the majority of clients in 2005 more than satisfied with the final outcome than I have in previous years (in a total year). 2005 was the year of dedicated repeat business and of bands that didn't break-up pre 2005 cuz I've plenty of great albums before then.
It was a good year, sonically, but I'm still living payment by payment without saving up for other things, unless I sell off some gear I don't use any longer for a different piece of gear.
2006 is going to be interesting, there's a lot of things that are gonna change... I'm looking forward to it, tho. So far, so good.

Terrible year
2005 was a cursed awful year for me and so far 2006 is poised to be a bigger disaster. The best thing I've done was a one-day film date for overdubbing piano to picture, and everyone from the music producer's assistant to the director was kissing my ass telling me how great I was to have everything go off without a hitch.
The worst thing I can't even mention because it was so bad I'm afraid that my writing about it will exponentially explode bad voodoo on my life.
