I would go with original Titebond before the hide glue. I have never used the hide glue. Most of the ppl I have worked with that repair guitars use Original Titebond or Titebond II.
Here is a nice thread:

Any luthiers in duh house?
WOW!! that just about covered any questions on glue that I had. What I take away from that thread is that I should use hide glue on anything that might need to be taken apart in the future.RodC wrote:I would go with original Titebond before the hide glue. Here's a quote
"PS. I trust the 160 year old double bass was properly restored and repaired
with the traditional HHG, as was used in its original construction...AR can
never be completely cleaned out and it would be a shame to have ruined the
autheticity of the joint for the sake of convenience...besides, as you've
undoubtedly read, there are many experiments that portend to prove some
sonic benefits to HHG (mostly in violin construction), so the hassle may
have a pay off on those crucial vibration transfer points."
There was some other talk that said they use HG for anything in the violin family.
Also ,HG draws the joint in(contracts?) this would be a good thing IMO.
Am I getting off track here???
Thanks,
Harry
