Rock albums tracked live (in the same room)?

I'm sitting here listening to Don Caballero's American Don. It sounds pretty live in some ways, but other aspects of it sound like there was significant isolation involved (iso booths?). There are some pretty awesome sounds in this record though. The challenge of tracking music this loud all in the same room is something I really want to incorporate into my aesthetic and learn how to do better.

Anyways, anyone have any good examples of rock music tracked live in the same room (that sounds good)? Even better, anyone know of any music and have any inside information on how it was tracked?

Heck YES. Ben Kweller's On My Way. It isn't that LOUD a record, but it was all done in the same room at the same time. some tracks are vocals and all!

RX Bandits album "The Resignation" was tracked live and it's a very fine sounding record.

There's some great all in one room stuff on Elvis Costello's "Delivery Man." I love whenever they ride up the upright piano the drum tone changes. I think even some of the lead vox were cut in the room with the band.

Someone mentioned Anodyne and I know it was tracked live, but I believe there were booths involved.

I haven't done it in a while but I can be really fun. I'll see if I can upload something for you guys to hear...

I did this band Pecados a while ago we tracked it live in the same room and they were extemely loud(at times)..everything was shaking..the pictures flew off the walls..

frank black and the catholics, mostly live direct to two track. I'm still waiting for some one semirelated (ahem, joel) to do an interview.

Maybe Grateful Dead's "In the Dark" would qualify here, although knowing their usual MO they probably dropped in a lot of overdubs for lead vox, etc. Anyway the basic tracks were recorded on a stage in an empty theater.

Am I right in assuming that the earliest Elvis Presley sides were all recorded at once in a room? I've always figured they were, but I don't have proof.

The Mission of Burma stuff was done that way if I'm not mistaken... as were The Lyres and pretty much everything else on the "Ace of Hearts" label
