has anyone else listened to the cd, and watched the dvd?

I really like the version of "Modern Girl" on the DVD better than on the CD.

How can this be?

perhaps they didn't master the dvd through a pair of big muffs like they did with the cd?

i like the way it sounds- for lack of a better word at the moment, it sonically comes off as rustic to me in approach- either in the actual tracking and/or mixing. i think the latter. i think metallica was trying to get this kind of sound for their latest disc (and failed), which of course sucked and received a lot of backlash for the sound. but for the SK disc, it works. i dunno...i like the songs, which its all about, and the sound doesn't get in the way.

i am guessing however that it doesn't translate to mp3 well at all!

the first song on the album is a real rocker anybody know what pedals they used I read an article where she said she used a Boss Blues driver know anymore

It was a Roland Double beat. I saw them at the Corner and big day out, rocked my socks.

Man, I haven't heard them in a few years, but this album sounds really cool. FYI check out footage on IFC's Henry Rollins show, two songs and interview, good high energy stuff.

I found the guitar player issue with there interview it tells all the pedals and amps they use I can post if anybody wants

I haven't been able to get through the album without feeling like I'm slightly deafer.

Much as I LOVE S-K (been to five shows and have a signed shirt, because that's how fly I roll), The Woods is really tough for me to get into. I guess I'll have to see them live next time they hit L.A.

They're super-sweet, though - if you ask 'em at a show, they'd gladly tell you what gear they use.

It just sounds like a 'VU - White Light White Heat' mixed with 'boombox' approach, I don't see/hear what the big deal is.
