apparently, the new long-awaited album by Sparklehorse will be out this September. As I recall, he (Mark Linkous) worked with Dave Fridmann back in 2004 as well as semi-recently with Danger Mouse (apparently the results of the latter collaboration are quite different than Mark's previous works). Sparklehorse back with star-studded new album
First LP in five years boasts special guests

Sparklehorse are to release their first album for five years in September, NME.COM can reveal.

'Dreamt For Light Years In The Belly Of A Mountain' is out on September 25. It's the follow-up to 2001's acclaimed 'It's A Wonderful Life'.

As previously reported on NME.COM, the record features guest appearances from a host of stars, including Danger Mouse, Tom Waits, The Flaming Lips' Steven Drodz and producer Dave Fridmann.

The tracklisting is:

'Getting It Wrong'
'Shade And Honey'
'See The Light'
'Return To Me'
'Some Sweet Day'
'Ghost In The Sky'
'Mountains'

There will be a full UK tour around the time of the album's release.

yeah...with all the wayne sightings all over town (the danielson concert the other night no less)...I think I see wayne about every other month walking out of some store, but I keep thinking to myself, where is steven drozd?

'shade and honey' was on the laurel canyon soundtrack. i wonder if it's the same version or if it's been reworked at all.

the version in the movie was performed by the actor Alessadro Nivola backed by members of the Folk Implosion. Although Mark can be seen later in the filming jamming with Daniel Lanois at a party at the Chateau Marmot.
