Phil of foibles. He's an incredible lyricist and song-writer. Folks who have been clamoring for more attention being given to the budget side of things would love it b/c he's made some incredible records all on cassette 8-track. I strongly urge anyone who hasn't heard him to check Foibles out, a real inspiration, musically and recording wise. Tape Op did a favorable review of his first CD a few years ago, maybe that can be found in the archives...

I always learn a lot from the interviews of session cats. Some engineer interviews can be a bit repetitive (sorry, heresy, I know, but how many times do we need to ask some dude what he thinks of plugins vs. outboard effects? How many times must we revisit the engineer vs. producer comparison/contrast?) but the perspective of a career studio musician is always a bit different. I really liked that interview with the woman who did the bass on Pet Sounds - what's-her-name -
