Which Firewire card?
I was useing a presonus firebox on my laptop the other day and had some problems with clicking and poppong and audio dropping out. I've heard that a firewire card with a TI chipset is what I should get. Would this cure some of my problems?

I had a ton of problems due to a crappy firewire card. My RME Fireface just wouldn't run properly.
As soon as I changed the card to a Ti chipset, everything was fine.
But make sure you do all the usual XP music PC tweaks before buying anything. here's the link: http://www.musicxp.net/
