GARAGE SALE FINDS...

Hello,

I'm just curious if anyone has any interesting stories about gear they aquired from a garage sale or anywhere else that they got an incredible deal or find.

The only thing I can claim is how I got my hands on my Neotek console. I bought it from a University for a total steal.

I know of only two real stories of people who found vintage gear at a garage sale. One paid the fair market value and the other really falls into the stories I am looking for. The guys mom went to a rummage sale and found this guitar which she thought her son would like. She paid $50 for it. It was an early 60's Vox teardrop mint in original case. I saw the guitar when he brought it into the studio. Does anyone have a clue what it was worth?

Also, a side note-what is the value of an original RCA ribbon mic? Just curious.

I scored a Fisher stereo for $15 that had nine 12AX7's. They were about 50/50 Mullards and Telefunkens.



Check ebay for the RCA ribbon prices, they go for a lot.

Actually TV Lenny was a local guy who sold electronics and stuff in the 80's. He did the commercials for American stores. I decided on that name cause it brings back memories. yeah I am simple. The only time I wore womens clothes was to impress a chick. Go figure...yes beer was involved.

I'll give ya $20 for the Champ.
