just picked up a fixer upper next to nothing and was wondering how these boards are to work on. I've never even heard this board, does it sound any good? Anyone have anything good or bad to say about it?

Started out our place in '84 with a 12 channel A&H System 8. Good sounding console. I'll bet if you recap it (and the power supply) it'll sound very nice. Congrats.

that was My 1st console.
eq pots will need some cramolin.
pre's sound good on these.

A friend of mine used to have a System8 Mark I (brown one) and the pres were indeed incredible on it, as were the routing options. Don't know much about the eq. A studio down the street from my place actually uses a 24ch. Mark III in one of the two control rooms, which I assume is an even better version. It's actually a rather nice looking console with all those VU meters. I would consider getting one myself one of these days when the space warrants it.
