I was reading the monthly Digital Performer section in the new SOS and Black Lion got its own sidebar for its MOTU mods. Now I'll never be able to afford to get the other 4 channels of my PR8 modded. Congrats Matt.

I saw that too...

Looks like you won't be able to get that mod now anyhow, as Black Lion has stopped doing mods on SM Pro Audio gear pursuant to an ongoing development relationship with the company.

Yeah, this is awesome news for Matt and Black Lion. I don't think that I suggested otherwise. I think we can only expect awesome, affordale and (given the track record of Black Lion mods) much improved products from SM Pro for everyone from this venture.

Not sure how this got a negative spin from it...

Congrats to Black Lion for the magazine props and the development deal!

Whoah...I can't believe they actually ran that. You have no idea how much fuss MOTU put up over that whole thing.

Thanks for the kind words, you guys. It really means alot.

Didn't even think of that angle! Imagine advertising in a magazine that gives a shout out to a guy who rips 'em open!

out of all the geekiness. i wish there was some way, when people looked at my rack, and saw my 828mkII.. thats been modded by BLA.. they knew it by just seeing it! like some kinda certification branding.. i wouldn't mind the damage on the face.
but something more hardcore then a sticker.. so you couldn't really fake it.

so i don't have to be all. "not *just* an 828,, a BLA modded 828 bitch!"

BLA modded my RME FireFace 800 and Creamware A16 Ultra. Any Chicagoids with similar kit want to play the A/B game?
Yours,
Niall.
