Chicago Area studio looking for an intern....

Post by mfedderman » Tue Dec 05, 2006 6:40 pm

Phase Recording Studios in Highland Park, IL is looking for an intern a couple of times a week. This is not a glamorous position, but, you'll learn a lot. Duties include:

- Session/Mic set-up & tear down
- Assisting 1st Engineers with their as needed
- Studio cleaning/maintenace - taking out garbage, wrapping cables, filling the humidifiers, vacuuming, answering phones, booking clients, etc...
- Running Errands
- etc..

This is NOT a cleaning lady position, though, some clean-up is involved. If you need college credit for this, give me the forms and we're good to go. Also, remember this is in Highland Park, so, you must have reliable transportation.

Bottom line, you WILL learn from this, but remember. the more you put in to this, the more you will get out of it. This is a friendly environment. In fact, depending upon how you do, this could turn into a paid position, though, not to start.

Check out http://www.phaserecordingstudios.com for more info on the studio. If interested, please send an e-mail & resume (if you have one) telling me about yourself. info at phaserecordingstudios.com

NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE!

I'm too busy, and I'm a live sound guy anyways.

But Highland Park is only a couple towns down the road - it would be cool just to drop by sometime and see the place.

Aye, it would, and I have been telling Mr. Fedderman I'm gonna come over but somehow seem never to find the time. For which I apologize.

I hear from people interested in internships periodically. I'll keep your info around. There was also someone on the PSW board talking about/asking for(?) internship possibilities. I believe in Mr. Albini's forum.

Which reminds me, I should fill my humidifier. :)

Best of luck.
