Yeah SMC, thats exactly what I'm talking about. I'm not sure if thats what Ian was talking about, cause of the 50 pin comment. You connect them with RJ45 Cable(ethernet), which is really cheap, and easy to make your own(making it extremely cheap, though you need a special crimper). I've used this system before and like it. It's maybe not the most stable system(it's certainly far from a Private Q system), but for the price it's a very good solution for the dilema I'm facing with my current setup, though it lacks talkback.

Ahhh, so I did post this in the Tape Op forum. You just solved my problem. Thank you.

I've used an old Mackie 1202 mixer for talkback before.

I use auxes in the DAW for the headphone mix. I take that mix out to one of the stereo ins of the 1202. I plug the talkback mic into one of the mic inputs. The stereo output of the 1202 goes to the headphone amp.

I can then turn the mic on and off to get it into the headphones.

I can also plug my phones into the 1202 headphone out to hear if my phones mix is any good.

Did you hear that they were going to get Gary Oldman to play her in the movie?
