The return of Valley Audio/People/International!

Post by matta » Fri Mar 02, 2007 10:04 am

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to share this bit of news for the other die hard Valley fans out there.

-----------------

We are pleased to announce we have acquired the assets of the original Valley People aka Valley Audio company. Valley Audio has been a well respected pro audio company since the 1970's with years of pro audio experience, and was a leader in VCA technology for many years.

I can't think of a hit record in the 1970's, 80's, and 90's that did not have Valley Audio on it. Unfortunately, the company went through some bad years with the selling of the company a few times, and then basically sitting idle for many years under the ownership of Galaxy Audio.

Well, PMI has purchased the company, and we are now in the process of sorting it all out, and will introduce the company again at the end of this year with some familiar models, and some new things as well. We are confident we can bring Valley Audio to market with the same quality and flexibility at an affordable price point.

To me, the Keypex, Gain Brain, MaxiQ, Dynamite and the 401 vocal processor are as effective in today's market as they were in years past. So look for more information on this in the coming months, and we will do our best to get this gear out by AES.

Any questions or comments are most welcomed....

I've personally spoken to Alan am excited about this and connected him with the original designers, who I hope will get involved with some newer pieces of gear.

I trust Alan to to make these reissues to the exact tech specs of the original units and word is out that he is working with a well known plugin company to bring them the 'classics' to the DAW world.

Cheers

Hey Alan,
What's up with the PMI website? I've been trying to get there for a couple of days with no luck:
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable.
And yes, this is good news. Put me down for a couple of Dynamites - I'll take two and I can pay.

To be frank...I do not know. Doc Morgn, the original designer of Valley People and I will be meeting to discuss the future plans for the company. We will bring out a good representation of the classic Valley People models, then look to new models to secure a place for Valley People for the future.

So, it is hard for me to say now what we will do, and what we will not do. You can bank that Gain Brains, Keypex's, MaxiQ's and maybe Commanders and the power racks will come out. From there...only time will tell...

I'm hoping they bring back the old Allison logo, with that cartoon of her, boufant and all.

Wasn't it either like a couple that started the company and her name was Allison? Or maybe that was the wife or girllfriend of the guy who invented that stuff. That's what I've heard, anyway.

Allison was/is Paul C Buff's ex wife from the Allison Research days, her cartoon was dropped after the merger with Valley Audio and the resultant company was Valley People, which soon became Valley International when it was sold to Norm Baker and Doc Morgan.

Note to self... don't put your wifes name and face on gear, LOL

Cheers
