this article is in 3/19 new yorker:
www.newyorker.com/arts/critics/skyline/ ... goldberger
article says the guy played cbgb's so i guessed this was the john hong that writes reviews sometimes. something about this building design says the guy records music.
anyone? andy hong?
p.s. favorite john hong quote: 'Are you a Nomadic- Utopist? A true "N-UT" believes that utopia is not fixed in space and time, but can occur anywhere, anytime, and anyplace... and in a blink of an eye, that moment might be gone!'
even if your john hong is not the guy in the article, i still want him to design my house.
is t/o john hong this architect?

John, along with Jinhee Park, Erik Carlson, and John's brother Andy (TapeOp's own), designed Verdant, my studio in Vermont. They did an amazing job; they're incredibly talented and fine people.

My brother John was in a number of bands, including the original incarnation of Purple Ivy Shadows as well as the DC post-punk band Jesus Wept (back when the guys in the contemporary hardcore band of the same name were playing foursquare and dodgeball during school recess).
John's an amazing musician and a fantastic recordist; he makes great music! Oh, and he's an awesome architect too.
