So, the Cure is recording a new album!

I love the Cure! Old Cure, new Cure, in-between Cure! I even love the albums everyone hates (Wild Mood Swings for instance - criminally underrated).

They've got Porl back on guitar, keyboard player quit, and its supposed to be reminiscent of Kiss Me... Robert said something about 'just a four piece, rock guitar' sort of thing with more 'rock' urgency, thanks to Porl.

Anyone here still like the Cure?

Pornography and Disintegration are my favorites, but lately I've been more into the more psychedelic side of The Cure like Japanese Whispers, The Top, and especially The Glove's Blue Sunshine.

For me (call me nuts) Pornography is one of the five best albums ever made. They should have called it a day after that album IMO......oh well

I enjoy almost all of The Cure's stuff. My taste in Cure era changes from time to time. Everyone has different opinions on which album they should have stopped after. I kind of feel like Wish was the last good album that they put out. No, it isn't perfect. However, Letter To Elise is one of my favorite songs period. Every album since has produced at least a couple of worthwhile songs. Although I will admit I have not been able to get into anything off of Wild Mood Swings. Hopefully the new record will have at least a song or two that is worthwhile.

I love the Cure and am more excited about this new record than any Cure record in a long time. Going to see them on Monday night for the first time since 2000 and I can't wait, never seen them with Porl before so it'll be a real treat.

Nice to know there's some Cure fans around here.

Yeah, the first time I saw them (1995?) was with Porl on guitar. I saw the Zeppelin 'reunion,' the one that produced the 'No Quarter' cd, and Porl played guitar with Page and Plant. They paid tribute to their guest guitarist by playing Fascination Street. I pretty much blew my wad right in my pants watching Zeppelin play the Cure.
