Do you love Courtney Love?

Is Courtney Love a talented musician? I heard Albini refused to work with her. I was wondering what that would sound like.

I miss the "pretty on the inside" courtney love / hole. Nothing she's done since has been interesting to me.

*edit*
Sorry, I didn't answer the question. I think it would have sounded something like:
"STEVIE! Rechurd my F*CKING RECORD! pwease?" "No thanks, you star f*cking skank!"

The subject line has a different question than the actual poll. While I think we can all agree that she is relatively unlikable, I admire her ability to repeatedly sell herself as a musician, actor, strung out woman about town, etc. and her abilities to do these things leads me to categorize her as talented (musically and otherwise) in her own perverse way. Kind of the strung-out version of Madonna.

Funny, as she actually played Madonna in Basquiat.

She is a talented manipulator.

(she's gotten me to vote and respond to this thread...)

I put "don't know". I mean, she's not my cup o' tea, but there were others that enjoyed Hole (a few lesbians and chick rockers back in high school come to mind). She's no Carla Kihlstedt, but few are/can be. I don't admire her, and I can't "get" her talents like some other folks can. So I'll leave it to them to say she is or isn't.

I'm not sure of the relevance of this thread,

I'm gonna send it over to the Listening to Music and see if Chris thinks its worthwhile.

i dug the 'kinderwhore' look, and she always had a hot bass player.

but then, i like 'em kinda rough around the edges...

i doubt she can write songs very well on her own.

love her or hate her, she took a ride in the rock scene, and likely worked hard at it. something i wish i could have done. hooking up with a great songwriter and celebrity certainly helped matters.
