i used to use the cheap shock mount. the one that a big platic barrel with orings on the inside. It mates to a shure 58 clip just fine. Though I reverse it so gravity wont loosen it. Cant recall the name of the cmpany. I use the small ones on my 012's and ME40's, the big ones on the 421, GT52s etc.

Okay, I found the TapeOp article that I must've been thinking about. It's called "Build Your Own Microphone Shock Mount," by Tom Rogers, in issue #33, p.26. It uses PVC coupling and "ouchless" hair elastics, mounted to a standard mic clip via a strip of corner moulding using epoxy (or superglue). Use 2" dia. coupling for SDC's, 2.5" for LDC's or the 421 (my guess on the latter).
T.R. says it can be built for under $10. But I'd think that unless you have that stuff handy or the right stores are super-convenient, you'd maybe be better off just buying the $25 model mentioned.

I think it was in tapeop where you just take a normal mic clip and cut the sides off with a razor blade, where it will slide into the slot
mine are secured with hot glue. which will peel off with a little effort if I ever decide I need to spend $40 for the POS sennheiser sells
the clips haven't moved on my421s for over a year now
