NO the big empty bass drum is already tracked, long with a normal bass drum, I'm just making Calbi (or Carl Saff as is actually the case) tweak the EQ and Compression to make the two BDs sound and react the way I hear it in my head.

you know a good engineer would get that shit right in tracking.
