Poll - If you could only have one electric guitar
Poll - If you could only have one electric guitar
My first poll. I saw some pretty amazing guitar collections recently on these forums. But what if you could only have one electric. What would it be? And why if you care to share.

Vintage Fender Telecaster with a big fat neck. Total vibe and always sounds great. Led Zep I.
(My other two would be a '57 strat and a '59 Les Paul.)

I got a Fender Jaguar Special HH last summer and since then, I found that I don't play my Telecaster or my Epiphone G400 since I can get similar sounds from it and not have to adjust to the feel of different guitars.
This Jaguar has humbuckers, but not the high-output kind. Coupled with the bass roll-off switch, it's like having two guitars; a boomy rock/blues guitar and a skronky punk/country guitar.

not to worry, just keep tracking....

If it was a bass it would be a Sadowsky Jazz, the 60's style ones with the neck binding and VTC.
for guitars it would be an ancient Gibson SG like from the 60's. Before they started to suck. Ialso wouldnt kick a Musicman Stingray Guitar out of bed. they didnt make any post EB as far as I know.

I am not surprised to find the tele in the early lead. Gibson SG seems to be next. But just like Iowa and New Hampshire , it is still early.. Oh as far as my own choice. It would have to be a 1959-62 Gibson es-330 with bigsby.

i have a usa hamer studio archtop w/ barden humbuckers in it that i love and which would be my choice. i have a g&l legacy that's great too, but it tends to get pretty dusty and the strings rust in between plays these days.

a good Fender Telecaster, no contest...preferably a just barely pre-CBS one with a rosewood fingerboard and proper shielding.
coming in a close second place would be a Gretsch G6128 Duo Jet (Filtertrons, non-trem).
yah, i'm not asking for much am i?
