i'm like that too though. not a fan of coldplay, but i do enjoy the extreme opposite ends of the mellow/brutal spectrum.

i'm really digging the new Cat Power covers record. the production is fantastic on vinyl.

I was pretty well stunned by how nice that disc is as well. I wasn't quite expecting it, in light of the sparse and intimate sound of the mostly solo covers record (also most excellent IMHO) from a few years back. The lush sound and vibe are seriously great...wish I had picked up the vinyl for this one.

the band she's playing with is so tight. i saw them back her up live and was knocked the fuck out. that kick drum sound is too good to be true. haha.

are you noticing any distortion happening on the CD version (presumeably from mastering)? i was listening to it at work and could hear all kinds of nastiness happening. could just be my phones though.

the vinyl sounds gorgeous. 180 gram.

I heard an advance copy that a radio station friend of mine got. It's good. Much more jammy and not at "structured" as Face The Truth. Not bad, just different. Longer songs with more extended solos. Certainly enjoyable.

WOULD BUY FROM AGAIN A++++++
