I like the caption under the RCA 44 ribbon mic:
"The RCA 44 mic from the 1940s to get the right drum sound."
I'm getting some ribbon mics soon, so I'll be experimenting on my drumkit.

Great article. He does well combining recording philosophy/psychology and gear choice/technique.

Well, technically, the world will be ending before the teens begin, but you know, it doesn't mean we can't brood about what could have been.
