Home Depot Acoustic Panels
While I was buying some more insulation at my local Home Depot I thought I'd check if they carried dense fiberglass or rock wool for some absorption. I found something that might work but I'm not building material savy. What the heck is:
R 6.5 Tuff Sheathing Polyisocyanurate Insulation
I couldn't even tell if it was fiberglass. It had a foil covering and a 4'x8' panel was only $13. Tell me this stuff is useful.

It is useful. To retain thermal energy within a living space. For acoustics, it's basically useless. It's closer to polystyrene foam than fiberglass.losthighway wrote:Tell me this stuff is useful.

But a 2 ft X 4 ft panel of the good stuff is only a little more:

I've got 40 sitting in my studio waiting to be covered.

OC703 or RXL60...both will work just fine, so buy whatever's most available/cheapest.
