Just sayin'.
That is all.
That is all.
Compared to? Louie, Louie? There's a long precedent in pop music for playful, nonsensical word play. I think Glass Onion falls into that category and among others of its ilk it's a standout in my book; self-referential, droll, possibly even incendiary. It's no Subterranean Homesick Blues, but...
Just sayin'...

Hey everybody,
Have posted here before, but the thread was closed, iffin' you remember.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that I think a lot of the "gibberish" that John wrote (at least before the '70s) meant something in particular to him. I just think he purposely phraised a lot of his lyrics ambiguously so people wouldn't know EXACTLY what he was saying. I think a lot of songwriters do the same thing.

I don't know about top 10 Beatles songs, but I agree with you, it's lame to throw stuff out there like that. Freshman comp teaches you you can't make a claim without support and that's just what happened here.micyourbrain wrote:personally I think it is one of the top 10 best beatles songs

Maybe that's why he hasn't been back.
I'm just playing, but you can't stir the pot like that if you're not staying for dinner.

Seriously, Justin is a solid cat and a regular contributor here. I've seen him give out a lot of help to folks on this forum. I guess if you're not familiar with his presence here, this topic might come off a bit douchey. He is one of the good guys.
He just doesn't like the lyrics of this one particular Beatles song. No big.
Prog out with your cog out.

Is that a dig at me? For calling out Jeff on his douchiness? Did you read what he wrote to that band? WTF?superaction80 wrote: How 'bout this:

You know what would be really interesting here? An actual discussion about the lyrics and whether or not they do, if fact, suck, or if there's something else going on that doesn't immediately announce itself. The original point, while not developed in any way, was provocative, clearly.
