Wanted to Hire:Circuit designer for very small audio project

Post by Flight Feathers » Mon Aug 25, 2008 9:03 pm

I have a very simple project that I'd like to hire some help for, I'd do it myself but I'm slow with this stuff and don't have the time right now. Should be a piece of cake for the experienced. The project is basically a 2 channel audio mixer with a couple controls like pan, volume, etc per channel. That's pretty much it. For the first phase, i'd like to create a prototype that can be built point to point on those boards with all the holes on it. If that goes well, I'd like the circuit to be transferred to a pcb.

Please contact me if you are interested. Must be able to meet up in Brooklyn.

Thank you very much.

So just a little bit of devil's advocacy here (I work for a contract engineering design firm as my day job, an I want to understand your perspective a little better):

What would make this project different from a small off-the-shelf mixer?

Except for the meeting in Brooklyn part, I could do it...but for the price of a tiny Mackie, brand new, you'd cover my parts expenses, and maybe the time it would take me to drill the enclosure. Do you need something that you can't find elsewhere?

yes, i should probably be more specific. i realize there are plenty of cheapo mixers out there, but none of them exactly fit all of my needs.

each channel is stereo, and the first channel needs to have mic preamps. the second channel is line level in, like an ipod. and i want the box to be very simple - 3 knobs per channel, and battery operated.

sorry, but i'd really prefer to meet face to face.

thanks

I'm not equipped to take on this job, but I am in Brooklyn, and very curious... Can I watch?

I, too, would like to meet and talk with a local person willing to take on a job like this.

It may be cheaper to buy somthing like a Rolls MX124 and mod 2 inputs to be line level. Prob much easier as well.

You could convert the 1/8" headphone jack to be an input.

Also, it looks like the Samson Mixpad 4 would do what you want.
