Time for another Chicago beer night?

Post by Scodiddly » Sat Aug 30, 2008 6:55 pm

Seems like it was about this time last year that we had a fairly successful Chicago beer night... anybody up for one this year?

I'd love to if there's anyway I can make it up state for it. If it happens in the second weekend in October, I'll be there for sure, but otherwise, it depends on my work schedule. Definitely gonna follow the thread.

Would love to, actually. I hope we can find a night when we're not all busy! I have 3 theater shows coming up so my evenings are gonna get scarce. But let's start throwing dates up and see what happens!

I'm in! FWIW - I think Rock Bottom worked out pretty well last time.

Scott, any new mics to debut? Anymore Alice/Audrey mics available?

Who wants to call Mr. Hardy? Didn't someone promise to call and invite him to the next outing?

Sorry I can't make it up there this year. I'll be sure and get something happening next time I'm up visiting the in-laws, though.

Rock Bottom was pretty good. I'd also maybe suggest Piece Brewery on North Ave; I was there recently and the Hefeweissen was amazing.

New mics?

underbar made me think of green eye (sister bar) - right under the el at western/milwaukee. gives the advantage of much easier parking than in wicker park for piece [and less trixie dodging] - but allows easy CTA access for people as well.

green eye recently expanded and has a second room so it's a lot bigger now.

i'm w/dwlb - if only we weren't all so busy! pick a date and if we can make it, great, if not - no sweat. i don't think there's gonna be one date that's universally good for everyone.

or orbit room for easy access for suburban people - right off the california exit, tons of easy parking. huge outdoor patio if the weather is nice. no nearby CTA though.

or maybe small bar logan square - that's relatively accessable by CTA and XPY.

Wherever - I don't mind trixies. Green Eye sounds cool. Piece is always good, just a bit loud - they do have the pit though. Rock Bottom worked out pretty well last time.

Scott - Is that like Isaac the Bartender? Very cool. Let me know if you decide to selling any.

dwlb - Any night next week look better for you?

Chris - We'll see ya next time around!

Lock me up, cause I think I killed this thread!

I've been sick for over a week, as well as dealing with all that water over the weekend, so I'm just now getting back to this beer night thing.

Anyone want to meet up next week?

Tuesday is booked but I don't know beyond that.

How's Wednesday (09/24) for everyone? Should we keep it in the loop? Seems most convenient for everyone - hopefully we can get more people from the suburbs if we can keep it close to the central transportation hub.

Where's Archmart, Djimbe, and Kilroy? I haven't seen Kilroy post in a long time.

If we can set this soon, I'll contact Hardy to see if he's still interested in coming down.
