Booking gigs?

Post by LeedyGuy » Mon Sep 08, 2008 6:33 am

I'm trying to book rock gigs for my band www.myspace.com/nickafflittomusic in the NYC/NJ area and I just can't seem to get any action going. Anyone have any tips? None of the guys in the band are new to the scene, but we none of us has been in a band where we had to book the gigs, so we are clueless. Is there some kind of website that has all the contact info for clubs or something like that? Am I asking for too much?

Tips, anyone?

Lots of calls and emails. Try to get something through another band. Some clubs like it if you set up a whole night - say three bands and perhaps some sort of theme. That way the booker doesn't have to do all the work. Just make sure the bands you bring along are both good and reliable...
